"Unending Nightmare"

Hey everyone! This is my submission for Spooky Jam 2023, "Unending Nightmare"!

This was a lot of fun to make, as I'm not used to making this sort of song or even genre. This is also my first game jam, and thought the idea of making a Halloween themed boss fight track would be a fun challenge, as I've made dark styled hip-hop beats in the past.

I used every spooky idea I had, from a sinister piano lead to a tiny music box melody. I utilized the strings to create the energetic and fast motion I look for when I'm listening to a boss fight OST. The drums are simple and straightforward, as to allow the melodies and other sound elements to really take center stage. I see the intro to the song playing during a beginning cutscene, the chorus starting the fight, the calm middle to be a transition to a phase 2, and the rest of the track being that said phase 2.
